KARACHI: As the current fiscal year is going to end soon, the Federal Board of Revenue has started tightening noose around tax defaulters’ necks. The receivables campaign, which was earlier started against the defaulters, is going in full swing. The purpose of this campaign is to bring more and more people into tax net.
Deputy Commissioner Regional Tax Office Karachi while talking to Customs Today said that “we have send notices to at least 120,000 peoples from January till to-date. She further revealed that department is already sending notices to further 70,000 people.
Those persons who will not response to these notices will face legal proceedings in which they will be issued Assessment Orders.
She claimed that Federal Board of Revenue takes many measures last year to bring defaulters into tax net. She said that same action will be repeated during this fiscal year.
