FBR to investigate source of income of billionaires in Pakistan

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), starts action against ‘big guns’and wants to investigate that how they become billionaires in very short period and become the owners of housing societies, luxury vehicles, big homes and five star restaurants.

FBR sources told Customs Today, that FBR wanted to know about the history of billionaire in Pakistan, the idea generates when some individuals become business tycoons in very short span of time.

Sources further revealed that Federal Board of Revenue wants to investigate the sources of income from where they receive money and purchased big houses, luxury cars, five star restaurants, and housing societies.

FBR collecting data through intelligence sources about richest persons of Pakistan and maintaining records about them.

Source also told that FBR will send notices to all these big guns asking them to expose their source of income and if any one failed to satisfy the department, then FBR will take stern action against them and their properties will be seized.

Board realized that most of billionaires are not paying actual tax amount and they are hiding many things from FBR while some are not even registered with FBR.
