ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced a digital invoicing system for all sales tax registered individuals as part of its digital transformation plan, as announced through SRO 709.
This new system offers several key benefits:
It facilitates business transactions.
It ensures complete transparency in financial dealings.
It aims to eliminate tax evasion by creating a clear record of transactions.
It links sellers, purchasers, and the FBR to ensure accurate and secure transaction records.
Ultimately, it is expected to strengthen the economy.
The implementation of this digital invoicing system has specific deadlines based on the type of registered individual:
For corporate registered individuals, the deadline is June 1, 2025.
For non-corporate registered individuals, the system must be implemented by July 1, 2025.
Regarding integration, details of FBR licensed integrators are available on the official FBR website. Additionally, PRAL is offering direct integration services free of charge.
The FBR emphasizes that issuing digital invoices is a legal requirement and encourages all registered individuals to adopt the system to contribute to the country’s progress.
