FBR upgrades 298 posts of Inland Revenue Audit Officers as Assistant Managers Audit

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has upgraded the posts of Inland Revenue Audit Officers BS-16 as Assistant Managers Audit BS-17 of some 298 officials throughout the country.

These officers had been appointed into the FBR tenure ranging from 1996 to 2001 as Senior Auditors and later the nomenclature of the posts were re-designated as Inland Revenue Officers.

Interestingly, the same posts were again renamed as Revenue Audit Officers and now the posts of again renamed/re-designated as Assistant Managers Audit, sources told Customs Today.

In this regard, Secretary Management-IR–II Imran Latif Minhas issued a notification No 1610-IR-III/2015.

The breakup of the posts included Bahawalpur 9; Abbotabad 4; Faisalabad 12; Gujranwala 6; Hyderabad 11; Peshawar 32; Quetta 5; Islamabad 13; Karachi 93; Lahore 67; Multan 23; Rawalpindi 8; Sargodha 2; Sialkot 4 and Hyderabad 1.

The notification says the up-gradation shall be actualized on furnishing of joining report in compliance with this notification as Assistant Manager Audit.

The Senior Auditors/IRAOs already notified for up-gradation vide notification No 1359-IR-III/2012 dated 27.6.2012 and No 1473-IR-III/2012 dated 9.7.2012 are also required to resubmit joining as Assistant Manager Audit, the notification added.
