ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) decided to withdraw tax imposed on foreign dramas being viewed in Pakistan on different channels.
Sources told Customs Today that that FBR levied a tax of Rs1,00,000 on each drama but despite passage of one year only Rs3,00,000 were collected by whole year. Now FBR authorities decided to withdraw the same tax. It is necessary to mention here that FBR assign this responsibility to NEPRA to collect the tax from these channels but due to lack of mechanism authorities failed to collect the tax.
Now after withdrawal of such tax there are strong chances that most foreign dramas will be aired on Pakistani channels in future.
