FBR withdraws zero-rating facility on power supply to 11 factories

FAISALABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), making amendments in STGO 09.2007 Dated 13-09-2007, has withdrawn facility of zero-rating on supply of electricity to 11 factories in Faisalabad over misuse of the facility.

The competent authority, exercising the powers conferred upon it by clause (d) of Section 4 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, read with SRO, 1125(I)/2011 dated 31,12,2011, made the following further amendments in its Sales Tax General Order No, 09 of 2007 dated September 13, 2007, namely: –

In the aforesaid General Order, in the Table.

  • Against serial number 1049, the figures “21333535007805R” & “21333535017402R”, appearing in column (4) shall be omitted;
  • Against serial number 1373, the figures “21333232007907U” & “2133323202082U”, appearing in column (4) shall be omitted;
  • Following serial numbers, in column (1) and entries relating thereto in column (2), (3) and (4) shall be omitted.

SRO

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) has been asked to start charging sales tax on the supply of electricity in respect of aforementioned consumers with immediate effect.
