FBR withdraws zero-rating facility on power supply to 67 textile units

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has withdrawn zero-rating sales tax facility on purchase of electricity available to 67 textile units on charges of misuse and evasion.

The FBR has suspended the zero-rated facility on the recommendation of Regional Tax Office (RTO) Faisalabad, which conducted thorough examination of the facility granted to textile units in order to check misuse.

The FBR through a Sales Tax General Order (STGO) directed Chief Commissioner, RTO, Faisalabad to submit report in respect of action taken / recovery made for misuse of the facility.

The FBR also asked Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) to start charging sales tax on the supply of electricity in respect of the companies with immediate effect.

The FBR suspended sales tax zero-rating on supply of electricity of the following companies:

  1. Dawood Usman Textile
  2. S. R. Weaving Factory
  3. Manzoor Weaving Factory
  4. Fine Star Weaving Factory
  5. Umer Mohsin Weaving
  6. Abdul Rasheed Weaving Factory
  7. Amjad Weaving Factory
  8. Islam Nadeem Weaving Factory
  9. Nawaz Weaving
  10. Nazir Weaving Factory
  11. Irfan Weaving Factory
  12. Muhammad Anwar A H Weaving Factory
  13. Muhammad Ramzan Weaving Factory
  14. Mian Ghulam Mujtaba Weaving Factory
  15. Abdul Ghafoor Weaving Factory
  16. Nazir Weaving Factory
  17. Nawaz Weaving Factory
  18. Waqar Sizing
