LAHORE: The Federal Revenue Alliance Employees Union (FRAEU) CBA FBR has threatened to lock out the Regional Tax Office (RTO) if recently suspended officials are not restored and FIRs against nine others are not quashed within seven day.

This was stated by FBR Revenue Alliance Central President Mian Abdul Qayum here the other day.  “The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) RTO employees held a demonstration to register protest in favour of their colleague who got paralysed and hospitalised while performing his duty as a security guard. Legally a bailiff is not a security guard but  Inland chief commissioner’s forcefully made the bailiff Nadeem Arif to serve as security guard at the main gate,” he said.

“Arif is a heart-patient and hepatitis patient. He was forced to serve as security guard at the gate where use of chair was also disallowed by the CC. He was also denied his right to avail leave by the CC. Arif pressurized by the CC could not survive the mental torture and finally fell down while he was on duty,” he added.

The CC has also managed to suspend five employees and managed to register FIR against nine other who come out to show solidarity with their colleague, he said, adding that “We condemn CC attitude towards the employees and demand compensation for Arif”. He told Customs Today that the Alliance has given a notice for strike and lock out if the hospitalized Arif is not compensated, suspended staff, restores, trained security guard deployed at the main gate and all legitimate and long standing demands are fulfilled.
