FBR’s drive against non-taxpayers helps surge NTN holders to 4.2m

ISLAMABAD: After the Federal Board of Revenue’s severe campaign against non-taxpayers, the number of national tax number (NTN) holders has reached record level of 4.2 million.

The number of registered people in sales tax regime has also surged to 192,400. There are 3,943,000 individuals, 191,000 associations of persons and 74,000 registered companies among the announced 4.2 million NTN holders. In sales tax regime, the number of associations of persons’ firms has increased to 35,400, while there are 18,900 registered companies in the regime.
