LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office Lahore’s facilitation centres to help and guide the taxpayers regarding the filing of returns have started functioning.
Regional Tax Office (RTO) Lahore established almost 14 Tax Facilitation Kiosks (TFKs) at different locations of the city. Officers at kiosks facilitate the taxpayers for filing their income tax returns and statements for the tax year 2014.
The RTO established facilitation kiosks at the following locations in Lahore; Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Akbari Mandi, Baghbanpura, Misri Shah, DHA, Sadar Bazaar,Anarkali, Panorama Center, Azam Market, Badami Bagh, Shahdara, Nankana Sahib and Shiekhpura.
Experts are of the view that FBR has taken this action as the taxpayers are facing problems to submit the income tax returns by using new software IRIS. They asked the FBR to activate the previous software until the elimination of the programming errors of the IRIS software. They also asked for extension in last date of filing returns as the FBR could not overcome the errors in the software.
