FBR’s tax awareness campaign from next week

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue’s FATE Wing with the economic cooperation of UK’s Department For International Development (DFID) has decided to launch a regular campaign from next weak vis-a-vis taxpayers awareness and for educating the public towards paying tax.

This was disclosed by FBR’s FATE Wing Member Rifat Shaheen Qazi in an exclusive interview with Customs Today on Friday.

She revealed that FATE wing would orgainse special lectures in universities for creating awareness among new generation about paying tax.  She added that students should know the importance of paying tax once they enter practical life after university education. “The campaign will educate the students about effectiveness of paying taxes for the country and how they are necessary to run the affairs of the state.”

Besides that, Rifta said the campaign would also be launched on print and electronic media and expenditures in this regard would be bore by DFID. In this campaign, Rifat added that general public would be educated about benefits of paying taxes.  She said that all preparation has been made in this regard.  She revealed that new strategy has been chalked out and new suggestions are being worked out which would be sent to FBR chairman Tariq Bajwa. Rifat said that promotion of tax culture is necessary for Pakistan’s progress and collective efforts of all stakeholders are needed in this regard
