FCCI concerns over reducing gas supply to industrial sector

FAISALABAD: FCCI has expressed concern over the step motherly treatment with the industrial sector of Punjab by reducing gas supply only to the industrial sector of Punjab.

In a statement issues here, Chaudhary Muhamamd Nawaz said that the industrial sector of other provinces are getting gas round the clock while in Punjab the industrial sector is getting gas only for six hours.

He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif should take notice of this unfair treatment and take necessary measures for the fair an d across the board distribution of gas.

Meanwhile, Syed Zia Alam Dar Hussain, SVP FCCI said that the value added textile sector was busy to fulfill its Christmas orders and at this crucial time the gas suspension would create problems for this sector.

He said that Pakistani exports were already declining due to different reasons and now the gas suspension will add to their miseries further reducing textile exports. He said that government should immediately intervene to save further decline in exports.
