FCCI hails maiden visit of newly elected CM Punjab Usman Buzdar

FAISALABAD. Shabbir Hussain Chawla President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) has welcomed the expected and maiden visit of Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar and hoped that he will give clear directions to the local administration to resolve the pending civic problems of this mega city in addition to initiating new projects to transforming it into a dynamic and vibrant business hub of Pakistan.

He told that Canal Road is the central communication lifeline of Faisalabad. An underpass at Kashmir Pull had already been sectioned but work on it has not been started yet. He said that this bridge has become a sore point with rampant traffic James and accidents. He said that work on this project should be started and completed as soon as possible to ensure uninterrupted traffic on this six lane mega project. He further said that this road ends at Sainwala interchange. He demanded that the canal road should be extended up to Balloki along Rakh Branch canal in order to link it with the Golden Triangle of Punjab that is Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujarat. He said that the existing ring road around Faisalabad city should also be widened in addition to proposing another ring road to provide an alternate route for inter district vehicular movement. He said that new roads should also be build to link M3 and M4 with Lahore- Karachi Motorway at suitable points.

Commenting on the cleanliness of the city, he demanded a modern scientific system for the collection and immediate disposal of solid waste. He further said that the filth depots situated in the congested and thickly populated areas should be shifted outside the city as these are polluting the atmosphere in addition to spreading serious diseases among the people living around these filth depots.

He also demanded immediate removal of all illegal encroachments which is haunting the citizens for the last many years.  He also identified the need to provide proper parking places and said that work on the proposed parking plazas should be started immediately in addition to proposing new parking centers for the new and emerging business centers of the city. He said that water supply system should also be improved and expanded to ensure clean drinking water to the 100% population of Faisalabad city. He said that at many points the water supply lines are linked with old lines or passing through sewer channels. He demanded a scientific study to separate these lines so as the chances to supply polluted water could be reduced to nil.

Meanwhile Mr. Chawla has thanked CM Punjab for including 2 MPA’s from Faisalabad in provincial cabinet and hoped that they would play their key role in resolving the civic problems confronted by the residents of Faisalabad.
