Federal courts to work on Saturdays

LAHORE: The Law Ministry has decided to keep the federal courts in Punjab open on Saturday due to increasing number of cases.

The courts will now work for 6 days a week.

The Law Ministry has issued a notification to abolish the weekly leave of Saturday and it will be now a working day in federal courts.

Courts, including banking, anti-smuggling, customs, anti-narcotics and land revenue appellate tribunal will now remain open on Saturdays.

The decision has been taken due to large number of cases pending in these courts. According to the notification, all employees were directed to stay in the courts from 8am to 3pm from Monday to Saturday.
