“This system will serve as the only route for the country’s economic and social development,” he said. Mushtaq Ahmad was accompanied by Minister for Finance Muzaffar Said. They recommended all accounts of parliamentarians and government ministries should be shifted to an interest-free system in their respective banks.

On the occasion, Mushtaq Ahmad urged the government to initiate revolutionary reforms by converting Bank of Khyber into an interest-free bank. He said the underprivileged sections of society were unwitting victims of this system.

“JI will no longer tolerate the system of economic deprivation and secular banking in the country,” he added. The provincial chief said the sharia courts had system failed to resolve the matter. He requested the courts to properly underline the mechanism for interest-free banking system in the country.
