Federal secretary assures PRGMEA of new SROs

LAHORE: Textile Industry Division Federal Secretary Rukhsana Shah has given surety to the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) of issuing separate SROs for readymade garments industry soon.

She said this while addressing PRGMEA Managing Committee. She said that she will take up the issue with FBR chairman as time has come to acknowledge the high potential of this sector.

Earlier, the PRGMEA members had urged the visiting secretary to introduce liberal import policy for raw materials, simplify MINTEX registration procedure, devise a mechanism to attest and record export invoices from Associations before Customs release of pending R&D funds, rationalized high mark up rates, reactivate implementation committee meeting, ensure uninterrupted energy supplies to industry and also ensure unnecessary interference by the government departments.
