Fesco starts changing faulty meters, Irrigation Dept recovers Rs182m from water pilferers

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco), on the directives of State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali, has started changing defective electricity supply meters of domestic and commercial consumers in the city.

According to the Fesco spokesman, Abid Sher Ali has taken a notice on complaints regarding additional bills which occurred due to defective moving electricity meters. The minister has directed all the power distribution companies to replace the defective meters of electricity consumers.

Meanwhile in Multan, the Irrigation Department has recovered about Rs182 million special charges from water pilferers during Rabbi season 2013-14. According to irrigation sources, the irrigation teams have raided at various places at four districts included Multan, Lodhran, Vehari and Pak Pattan under Irrigation Multan zone for recovery of special charges from the water pilferers and recovered around Rs182 million.

The recovery from Multan district was Rs 640, Rs 8,81,400 from Lodhran, Rs 11,87,900 from Vehari and Rs 9,75,300 was recovered from Pak-Pattan district.
