FIA arrests 24 travel agents, seizes hundereds of passports in Multan

MULTAN: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 24 travel agents during a crackdown against illegal travel agencies in Multan and recovered hundreds of passports.

According to the sources, FIA has arrested 24 illegal travel agents involved in human trafficking and recovered several fake passports in different raids in Multan.

The sources told Customs Today  that Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ahmad has directed FIA to take action against human traffickers. These human traffickers are exploiting innocent people, by showing lucrative packages of overseas jobs.

Deputy Director FIA Shahryar Babar conducted raids on travel agencies offices in different areas of Multan in search of human smugglers and arrested over 20 persons and confiscated laptops, receipt books, passports and foreign currency. While the Deputy Director of FIA Shahzad Babar conducted raids in New Multan, Shah Rukan-e-Alam, Abdali Arcade, Bosan Road and Katuchery Road areas.
