FIA arrests 12 illegal agents from different areas of Punjab

SIALKOT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 12 illegal agents during raids near passport offices in Sialkot, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat and Narowal.

Sources informed Customs Today that FIA Deputy Director Khalid Anees formed different teams which conducted raids at passport offices of different districts and arrested 12 agents. These raids were conducted under the supervision of Deputy Director Khalid Anees. Other persons who conducted these raids also includes Assistant Director Muhammad Sarwar, Inspector Sajjad Bajwa and Sub-Inspectors Rana Mutahasin and Naveed Iqbal. The arrested accused persons are identified as Asmat, Zahid Hussain, Ghulam Bari, Adeel, Bashir Ahmed, Shafique, Ashfaq Ali Hassan, Shamshad, Ali Asim Shah, Ihsan Ullah and Nasim.

During the raids, the FIA teams recovered 30 passports and 45 passport tokens. The FIA officials told Customs Today that the arrested agents were operating for a long time. The agency has registered separate cases against the arrested agents. Further investigations are underway.
