FIA arrests 7 govt officials for making fake documents

QUETTA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested seven government officials on charges of making fake ID, domicile and other official documents.

The officials arrested include five employees of the office of the Quetta deputy commissioner and two of the health and communications departments.

“They were involved in this illegal activity for the last five years,” FIA Crime Circle Deputy Director Rizwan Aslam said, adding that they had been making these fake national documents after receiving huge money. “Beneficiaries of these fake documents include foreigners also,” he said.

Fake national identity cards, local and domicile certificates, fake stamps of several government officials, including Quetta deputy commissioner, additional deputy commissioner, Quetta Metropolitan Corporation commissioner, SHOs of different police stations, were also seized by FIA officials.

Those taken into custody were identified as Ashfaq Ahmed, Sangeen Khan, Jaffar Ali Hazara, Fareed Ahmed, Abdul Qayyum, Ali Murad and Ali Shah.
