FIA arrests a suspect running illegal business of hundi, hawala

LAHORE: The Federal Investigating Agency (FIA) has arrested a suspect, Waseem Khan, allegedly involved in illegal business of hundi and hawala and recovered a huge amount of foreign currency from him.

A raid was conducted under the supervision of FIA Additional Director Javed Hussain Shah by Nasir Awan Inspector Abdul Qayyum, Inspector Ishfaq and Inspector Shafqat Jabbar at 87-H DHA Phase 1, Lahore.

During the raid, the officials arrested the accused person and recovered Rs 4.05 million, 1.025 million Iraqi Dinar, 5,460 Thai Baht, 5,085 Saudi riyals, 5,085, 2470 UAE Dirham, 2,845 Canadian Dollar, 15,012 US dollars, 1610 Euros, 6,065 British Pounds 6065, 100 Omani riyals, 3000 Qatari Riyal, 3,000 Japanese Yen, 440 Turk lira besides currency of various other countries.
