FIA arrests couple involved in human smuggling

LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)has arrested a couple reportedly involved in human smuggling, sources told Customs Today here Friday.

FIA sources said that taking action on a tip-off FIA Immigration staff at  Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore intercepted two passengers namely Hafiz Waqas and his wife Sajida Bibi who were coming from Sri Lanka on PK 411 were involved in illicit activities including human smuggling.

According to FIA officials a case has been registered against them and further investigations are underway.

FIA Anti Human Trafficking Circles has become very vibrant as it has brought to the book a number of human smugglers, an official said, adding that the Circles was established with a view to deal with the enforcement of laws.
