FIA arrests alleged front man of former ETPB chairman

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a proclaimed offender and alleged ‘front man’ of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) former Chairman Asif Hashmi in Lahore.

According to FIA sources, the arrested man, Muhammad Faizan Shams, was a proclaimed offender in FIR 124/13 of FIA Lahore. Shams had been fugitive for the last three years. They claimed that the accused, a former investment management officer at ETPB, was the front man of Hashmi and was involved in alleged illegal investment of ETPB in various projects. He was also accused of destroying investment record of the board during the period of Hashmi.
