LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a human trafficker during an operation in Gujrat.
Sources told Customs Today that anti-human trafficking cell of the FIA raided a locality of Gujrat and arrested Muhammad Irfan Jutt son of Bashir Muhammad, a resident of Chodu tehsil Kharian district Gujrat.
Sources said that the suspect is land route agent and is involved in sending people abroad on bogus documents after extorting huge amount from them.
FIA authorities also recovered many passports and currency of different countries from his possession during raid. FIA has shifted him to unknown place for further investigation and prosecution.
It is necessary to mention here that FIA authorities expedited their efforts to arrest human traffickers and they are using all resources to curb human smuggling in the region the sources concluded as saying.
