FIA arrests illegal money changers from Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two illegal money changers during a crackdown. The suspects were identified as Akbar Ali and Muhammad Tufail. Both the accused were running illegal business of hawala and hundi.

According to details, Deputy Director FIA Syed Imam Zaidi, Sub-Inspector Taimoor Haider conducted a successful raid in Bilal Ganj market Sargodha Road Faisalabad and arrested the alleged persons who were involved in illegal business of money exchange.

The FIA team said both accused persons were running business without getting permission from the State Bank of Pakistan. The team also has been recovered Pakistani rupees 8,50,000 and foreign currency UK pounds 400 and Saudi riyal 1000 and register used in hawala and hundi three cheque books laptop and CPU from his possession.

The FIA team registered a case against the accused persons and sent them behind bars. Further investigations are still in progress till the filing of this report.
