FIA arrests proclaimed offender-cum-human trafficker

FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a proclaimed offender-cum-human trafficker during a raid.

Deputy Director Syed Imam Zaidi told Customs Today that the accused namely as Muhammad Shezad Ali son of Ghulam Mustafa has been arrested following intelligence information. He is a resident of Siraj Town Gojra, Toba Tek Singh.

The deputy director said that accused extorted Rs 218,000 from a citizen for sending him to Dubai on employment visa. He has looted number of other citizens in the wake of sending them abroad on fake documents. FIA team also recovered fake visa stamps, medical certificates and other documents used for travelling from the possession of the accused. FIA team after registering FIR No 533/2016 under Section 17/22 E.O 1979 against the accused sent him to jail for further interrogation.

It is necessary to mention here that the FIA has expedited efforts to curb human smuggling in the region.
