FIA DG asks officers to perform duties fearlessly

RAWALPINDI: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General Bashir Ahmed Memon has eulogised highly professional role of FIA to apprehend the culprits involved in different crimes and directed officers to discharge their professional responsibilities without any fear and always stand with righteousness and law so that the expectations of common man on law enforcing agencies should be fulfilled in letter and spirit.

He stated this while presiding over the Graduation Ceremony of 48 FIA inspectors who had completed their six months training conducted at Police College Sihala on Wednesday. Commandant Police College Sihala, DIG, Ehsan Tufail, Director Training FIA Basharat Mehmud Shahzad, Dy Commandant, SSP, Haider Sultan, Addl. Director FIA Wajid Zia, officers of FIA Ahmed Latif, Capt. ® Muhammad Shoaib, Course Commander Police College Sihala, SP Aamir Khalil Syed, officers of Police College Sihala and faculty members attended the ceremony.

In his address, DG FIA appreciated the role of Police College Sihala in imparting training to the officers of police and law enforcing agencies. He said that it is need of hour that capacity building training courses should be conducted on modern lines to fulfill all the requirements.

He welcomed the newly training Inspectors of FIA and while giving advice to them said that they should uphold high moral values and always keep in mind that the ultimate authority is Almighty Allah to whom they had to answerable. He also advised that they should behave with others with respect and patience and do not exceed their limits and powers.

Commandant Police College Sihala, DIG Ehsan Tufail highlighted the contributions of Police College Sihala which is considered one of the best and unique training college of the country who had so far been imparted training to eighty-five thousand trainees not only from Pakistan but also from abroad. He further stated that a well trained and motivated force can efficiently avert unlawful activities and crimes.

Director Training FIA Basharat Mehmud Shahzad had taken oath from newly trained FIA inspectors that they should remain faithful with the country by maintaining supremacy of law.

Course Commander Police College Sihala, SP Aamir Khalil Syed highlighted the salient features of six months long training course in which trainees had been imparted academic courses besides physical training courses including horse riding, firing, parade and all other related subjects so that they could perform their duties efficiently in their professional and practical lives.
