FIA flayed over putting PSO officials’ names on ECL

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources has condemned the he Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for putting Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director’s names of exit control list (ECL) without any proof.

However, the FIA Additional Director has informed the committee that the names of top PSO officials were being removed from the ECL as the investigators had found no proof against the officials and the interior ministry was being approached for removal of the names.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the ministry was not informed about the inquiry carried out by the Federal Investigation Agency.

Other panel members expressed resentment at the unpreparedness of the FIA additional director.

The minister said that the prime minister did not reject the gas price hike and different options of passing on the impact of the raise were being worked out.
