LAHORE: Foiling a money laundering bid, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a man for smuggling about Rs130 million from Lahore to Dubai.
According to the official sources, the FIA team arrested accused Zeeshan Naseer Butt when he was set to board flight EK623 to Dubai from Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore. Sources said that Zeeshan managed to reach the departure lounge after clearance from Airport’s Security Force (ASF) and Customs and Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) counters.
They said that the FIA officers successfully arrested the suspect and recovered a large sum of foreign currency, including, €1,454,000, Dhs1,591,000, $10,000 and £2,500.
