FIA, Pesco teams arrests 79 power pilferers

PESHAWAR: The Pesco Surveillance and FIA teams conducted joint raids in different areas of Khyber, Peshawar and Swat Circles and nabbed 79 more power pilferers.

According to details during checking in the areas of Lala sub-division of Peshawar Circle nabbed 4 commercial connections including a tempered meter of Ghufran S/o Feroz Khan.

Similarly, direct connections of Duabi beauty parlor of Zardad S/o Wisal, Ibraruddin S/o Niazuddin, Madina Juice centre of Umera Khan S/o Muhibullah were also nabbed. FIRs have been lodged against them and Police arrested them. An amount of Rs.2,65,000/-have also been served to them as penalty.

Furthermore, during the checking in the areas of Risal Pur sub-division 15 domestic consumers nabbed while direct connections of 4 water supply schemes and 16 tampered meters were also nabbed.

Similarly, in the areas of Bari Kot sub-division of Swat Circle, 40 domestic connections involved in electricity theft were nabbed.
