FAISALABAD: Assistant Director Legal Choudhary Mazarullah said that the federal investigation agency (FIA), Faisalabad has started a crackdown against criminals in jurisdiction area on the direction of Interior Minister. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has started a countrywide crackdown against human smuggling. The decision was made following the threat of international financial sanctions on Pakistan due to rising number of cases of this trans border crime. On the delectation of the interior minister, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched crackdown against elements involved in human smuggling and sending people abroad illegally.
He said that FIA recently had written to the provinces asking that human smuggling should be curbed, as the country was facing threat of financial sanctions due to increasing number of such cases from Pakistan.
Faisalabad FIA during various raids conducted in Faisalabad, Gojra city, Sargodha, Jhang and Toba Tek Sing, as so as many travel agents had been arrested. He said that hundreds of passports, Stamp, CNICs and other travel documents had been recovered from the custody of the arrested agents and FIA had registered cases against them.
The assistant director legal quoted the interior minister as saying that by promising to send the needy and innocent people abroad such elements were exploiting them and therefore deserved no leniency. Mazarullah directed FIA to undertake effective and comprehensive action against all such elements. These views were expressed by assistant director legal during an exclusive interview with Customs Today. He told that the department arrested 16 Bangladeshis person by Pakistani top investigation agency on charges of possessing fake Pakistani identification.
FIA official team under the supervision of Deputy Director Syed Imam Zaidi comprising Sub Inspector Taimoor Haider Dar, Sub Inspector Muhammad Ajmal Hussain, Muhammad Awais and F.C Muhammad Bilal Khan, Jamshed Akhtar and others staff conducted a raid at night at Chak 266-RB Jaranwala Road Faisalabad and arrested 16 Bangladeshi nationals. Most of them had Pakistani CNICs which were issued on fake documents. He added that the Bangladeshi nationals had been living in Lahore from many years.
He said that FIA has also arrested three Pakistani, included an ex employee of national all database registration authority, for their alleged involvement in preparing fake CNICs of the Bangladeshis national. A case has been registered against the suspect’s under the national database registration authority ordinance, 109 Pakistan penal code and 14 foreigners act.
Mazarullah said the FIA has launched a crackdown in the country against foreigners living illegally in Pakistan. He said that Faisalabad FIA play active role to stop human smuggling, Ciyber crime, illegally money changer business, and others criminals affairs in jurisdictions area.
In another action a case was registered against suspect person and outstanding amount recovered from accused namely Sahir Firdousi of Bank manager of Habib Bank limited (HBL), Yousaf shah Road Jhang City Branch.
As per the details, under the supervision of Deputy Director Sub Inspector Taimoor Haider Dar along with his team raided at Lahore airport and arrested accused Sahir Firdousi. He was going to Dubai from Lahore airport on November 19, 2016.
The manager Sahir misappropriated the amount from 09 accounts of different bank accounts holders by issuing cheque books in their names without their request.
During the raid FIA team recovered Rs1,80,00,000, and also amount of Rs95,70,000. He was freezed in 5 different Bank accounts. In this case accused transferred the misappropriated amount. FIA detained the accused and lodged FIR, 508/2016 under section ( u/s ), 420,468,471,409,477-A PPC.
