FIA recovers huge quantity of bogus life saving drugs

LAHORE: FIA recovered a huge quantity of counterfeit life saving drugs and arrested four accused. Director FIA Punjab Dr Usman Anwar disclosed this while addressing a press conference held here at his office on Saturday.

He said FIA got information that a man, Arshad, involved in printing of labels etc for counterfeit drugs at Aibak Road near Anarkali. To which, a team conducted a raid and recovered a large quantity of printing material pertaining to fake drugs but the accused was not there at that time. However, neighbors told the raiding party that Muhammad Jameel Anjum was getting this material printed from Muhammad Arshad while Jameel Anjum has been arrested from Dina, Jhelum.

Dr Usman Anwar said during investigation the accused, Jameel Anjum, disclosed that Sajjad was manufacturing fake drugs at Gohar Center Wahdat Road, Lahore. He said the team conducted a raid at Gohar Center, recovered fake drugs besides arresting Sajjad, Asghar and Naeem.

He said the team was conducting raids to arrest Arshad.
