FIA recovers Rs 17.7m from human traffickers, proclaimed offenders

SIALKOT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has tightened its noose around the neck of human traffickers and has arrested as many as 23 notorious human traffickers-turned-proclaimed offenders named in the Red Book of the FIA during the ongoing grand operation against the human traffickers in this region.

Divisional Deputy Director FIA Ch Khalid Anees told Customs Today that the FIA has recovered Rs 17.7 million from suspects.

He said that the accused were wanted by the FIA in dozens of cases of the human trafficking, as the accused had been running their black business of sending the innocent people abroad, especially to European, African, Middle East countries by extorting big amounts from them.

The FIA has sent the accused behind the bars after registering separate cases against them. Further investigations are underway, in this regard.
