FIA recovers unregistered drugs, other stuff in raids

LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has conducted raids in different cities and recovered unregistered drugs as well as sex toys, said Assistant Director FIA Jamil Ahmed Khan Mayo.

Addressing a press conference, he said that raids were conducted in Faisalabad, Sargodha and Jaranwala, and three persons were arrested over their involvement in the illegal business of selling unregistered drugs as well as sex toys online.

“We have recovered huge quantity of spurious, unregistered and unwarranted Viagra 1000 and 5000, black cobra sexual medicines and sex toys during these raids,” Jamil Khan said, adding that the accused had been delivering these medicines to their customers at home through courier service and also by online shopping at websites.

The FIA official said the raid party had also seized digital media used for operating the website. He said an FIR has been registered and further investigation was under way.

Jamil Khan said more arrests were expected in coming days after further probe. Separately, DG FIA Muhammad Bashir Ahmed Memon Thursday visited the office of FIA Lahore Zone and held meetings with senior FIA officials including Director Lahore Zone Dr Usman Anwar and discussed important enquiries under investigation in the zone.

The DG also distributed shields among the FIA Lahore airport immigration officers for their meritorious performance. He also announced cash reward along with commendation certificates for the FIA staffers.
