FIA to take action against human traffickers in Gujranwala division

SIALKOT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has planned to take action against human traffickers and unregistered travel agencies who have been looting people in the Gujranwala division.

The officials concerned of the FIA said that as many as 500 unregistered travel agencies were involved in human trafficking and looting innocent people on the pretext of sending them abroad.

As per the details, such elements have been fleecing innocent people and extorting enormous amounts from them in the garb of lucrative Umrah packages, education promotion packages and tourism packages.

Moreover, they send innocent people abroad illegally, especially to Europe, USA, United Kingdom (UK), Australia, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, Korea and Dubai.

These travel agencies were allegedly promoting human trafficking in Gujranwala division, said the affected people, who have lost their money and still remained unable to get justice.

Most of these 500 illegal and unregistered travel agencies are located in Gujranwala region’s Sialkot, Narowal, Shakargarh, Pasrur, Daska, Wazirabad, Gujrat, Kharian, Lala Musa, Jalalpur Jattan, Kunjah, Mandi Bahauddin, Malikwal, Dinga, Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian, Alipur Chatta and Gujranwala cities.

Meanwhile, the Travel Agents’ Association Gujranwala has also expressed grave concern over this nasty situation. It has also demanded stern legal action against all the unregistered and illegal travel agencies.
