Finance division releases Rs4.4b for AJK’s development sector

MUZAFFARABAD: Federal finance Ministry has released an amount of Rs4.4 billion as second installment of development fund which has been dispersed to different departments to expedite the work on ongoing projects, said an official of finance department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The planning and development department in a meeting chaired by additional chief secretary Development Dr. Asif Hussain Shah has approved 22 more projects worth Rs5.3 billion after receiving the second installment.

These projects include building of inter college Kail, Basic Health Program, blacktopping of different intercity roads in Muzaffarabad and different beautification of Muzaffarabad, Mirpur and Kotli cities.  The official said the pace of work on development scheme would be accelerated after receiving second quarter installment under AJK annual development programme while the official said National Highway Authority had approved Mirpur to Mansehra Highway which will boost the economic activity in the region.
