Finance minister meets steel melters delegation

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here on Wednesday had a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Steel Melters Association.

The delegation discussed the current state of taxes/duties on steel products especially billets and bars, requesting an even playing field vis a vis, importers of these products.

The minister on this occasion said, it was a responsibility of the industrial and business sectors to contribute to the national exchequer. The country needed their support in this hour of need, and the best support could be in the form of paying tax.

The minister however assured to accord due consideration to tax related issues raised by the delegation.

Chairman FBR, Tariq Bajwa, AS to Finance Minister, Tariq Mahmood Pasha, Joint Secretary, Awais Manzoor and other senior FBR and finance ministry officials attended the meeting.
