Finance ministry amends scheduled of RD imposed on light fittings

KARACHI: The finance ministry has amended the schedule of regulatory duty rate of 30 percent, which was imposed on the import of light fittings with fixed/fitted LED/SMD lights under PCT 9405.1090 notified vide SRO 1035(I)/2017.

Accordingly, RD on cocoa powder (without sugar) is reduced to 20 percent from 40 percent. RD on Sulphonic acid, cocoamidopropyl betaine (CAPB) under PCT 34.02 is reduced to 10 percent from 20 percent earlier.

Moreover, sacks and bags of polymers of ethylene if imported by registered units for in house use for packaging food and dairy products will invite RD of 5.0 percent. Certain parts including covers for inner body, Enamelled and coated for antirust purposes and others if imported by registered units of AC manufacturers will invite 10 percent RD.

RD will not be levied on imports under PCT codes 1202.4200 and 1517.9000 by registered manufacturers of food and confectionary industry and imports under PCT 1901.9020, 1901.9090, 1905.9000 and 2103.9000 by units certified to the vertically integrated poultry processing units engages in production of value added chicken products.
