Finance Ministry recommends 10% increase in salaries, pensions

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Finance has recommended ten percent increase in the salaries and pensions of the government employees in upcoming budget 2016-17.

Sources said that Finance Minister Ishaq dar would approve the increase in salaries and pensions on May 25/26. They added that travel allowance and medical allowance would also be increased by 50 percent.

After including 50 percent increase of ad hoc allowance made in 2010, ten percent provisional increment for the year 2013 and 2014 in the basic salary, the said increment has been suggested to the minister. The Sources also said that travel allowance and medical allowance could be increased up to 100 percent instead of 50 percent.
