Finland’s Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä will head a Team Finland visit Kenya to promote exports and business trade in Kenya.
The business delegation accompanying the Minister has as about 50 representatives from companies and research institutes in the digital, energy, bioeconomy, cleantech, mining, mineral, education and health sectors, among others.
A broad range of Finnish companies are interested in cooperation and trade relations with Kenya.
Ambassador of Finland, Erik Lundberg says the opportunities of the African market are now being realized at the top of Finnish political agenda and Kenya is a long-term partner as the cornerstone of engagement with the continent.
On Thursday, Business Finland, and Kenya Private Sector Alliance together with the Embassy of Finland will host the “Doing Business with Finland” seminar, which will be attended by Finnish and Kenyan companies from a wide range of sectors, with a particular focus on education, health and energy.
The seminar, will include many sector-specific meetings in different combinations of Finnish and African representatives of the education, energy, cleantech and health sectors, among others.
While in Kenya Minister Lintilä and his delegation will meet Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury Henry Rotich, Cabinet Secretary for Energy Charles Keter, Cabinet Secretary for Health Sicily Kariuki, Cabinet Secretary for Industrialisation, Trade and Cooperation Peter Munya, and Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Private Sector Alliance Carole Kariuki.
