HELSINKI: The producer prices for manufactured products went down by an average 0.3 per cent in April 2015 compared to April 2014, according to Statistics Finland. The prices for manufactured products sold on the domestic market declined by 0.9 per cent, while the producer prices of export products went up by 0.5 per cent.
It went down especially due to reductions in the prices of oil products and food from the previous year’s April. The fall in producer prices was slowed down especially by higher prices of paper and paper board products. The Export Price Index rose by 0.6 per cent and the Import Price Index fell by 3.6 per cent in the year.
The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went down by 1.9 per cent. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply including taxes fell by 1.4 per cent. Export prices rose particularly because of increased prices of paper and paper board products and of manufacturing of basic metals from the previous year’s April.
