Finnair Cargo, a subsidiary of Finland’s flagship carrier Finnair, has signed a major deal with IAG Cargo to improve cargo connections between Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.
Finnair’s subsidiary Finnair Cargo cooperates in a freighter sharing deal with IAG Cargo in a bid to strengthen the cargo connections between Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. Finnair will open its third cargo hub in Europe in London, in addition to the ones in Helsinki and Brussels.
“We are happy to announce the opening of our third hub in London, which is continuing the home market expansion we successfully started by establishing the Brussels hub three years ago. This partnership with IAG Cargo offers our customers considerably improved connections between Asia and the UK, and adds tens of new great connections between our Nordic home market, North America and Asia,” says Antti Kuusenmäki, VP, head of Finnairs Cargo.
Connecting the two companies’ carrier networks will open up new cargo destinations for Finnair, especially in North America. IAG Cargo, in return, will be able to tap into Finnair’s advanced network connecting Europe with the Asia Pacific region.
