HELSINKI: The turnover of construction enterprises increased by 7.4 per cent and the sales volume by 7.2 per cent year-on-year in February to April period of the current year, according to Statistics Finland.
In the corresponding period one year earlier turnover grew by 2.2 per cent. Turnover grew in all construction industries. The turnover of civil engineering grew most, by 16.1 per cent.The turnover of specialised construction activities increased by 6.4 per cent and that of civil engineering by 6.2 per cent, the data show.
The sales volume of construction enterprises grew by 18.8 per cent in civil engineering while the sales volume of specialised construction activities increased by 6.2 per cent and that of construction of buildings by 5.9 per cent. The volume index of enterprises’ sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series.
