HELSINKI: There were 28,800 job vacancies in the second quarter of 2015, which is approximately the same as one year earlier, according to the Job Vacancy Survey of Statistics Finland.
In all, 21,800 or 76 per cent of the job vacancies were in private enterprises, while one year earlier the share was 66 per cent. The number of job vacancies in the second quarter of 2014 was 27,800, the data show.
The number of job vacancies went up particularly in small establishments with fewer than five employees and went down in large establishments with at least 50 employees. Examined by the industry of the establishment, the number of job vacancies rose most from the year before in the industry group of construction. Open job vacancies increased in the major region of Western Finland.
