HELSINKI: According to Statistics Finland, The value of new orders in manufacturing was 5.5 5% lower in February 2015 than 12 months earlier. Orders declined by 3.3 per cent year-on-year during January to February.
Enterprises received more orders than 12 months ago in February only in the paper industry, the data show. In the industry of the manufacture of paper and paper board products, orders grew by 3.9 per cent year-on-year. Change in new orders in manufacturing 2/2014– 2/2015 (TOL2008). In the chemical industry, new orders decreased by 6.6 per cent, in the metal industry by 8.0 per cent, and in the textile industry by 9.8 per cent from one year earlier, as per the statistics based on non-probability sampling, in which the basic observation unit is an enterprise or a kind-of-activity unit.
The index of new orders in manufacturing describes development in the value of new orders received by enterprises for commodities and services that are meant to be produced by establishments located in Finland.
