ISLAMABAD: The Agriculture and Fisheries Department in the federal capital has announced to lift ban on angling in the Rawal Lake in seven days.
According to the official of Fisheries Department, angling in the Rawal Lake was banned because of the breeding season of Gulfam fish. He said that now the breeding season had ended, so the authority decided to start issuing licenses for angling.
The fisheries department official rejected the impression that the fish being sold at stalls beside the adjoining roads were caught from the lake, rather it were purchased by the vendors from nearby fish farms. While talking to APP several anglers expressed satisfaction over the anticipation of lifting the ban on angling.
