FIU Khushab impounds non-duty-paid Mazda truck

FAISALABAD: The Field Investigation Unit (FIU) of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation has taken into possession a non-duty-paid Mazda truck with registration No: TKA-023 (Jaffarabad), Model 1994, worth Rs2.5million involving customs duty and taxes of Rs2.8million.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Syed Ittrat Hussain received a tip-off about some non-duty-paid vehicles which were moving on roads.

He constituted a team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Tahir, Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir, Driver Tajamul Haq (Havaldar), Sepoys Muhammad Sajjad and Khalil Ahmed.

The FIU team intercepted a Mazda truck near Quaidabad Khushab, Mianwali Road, district Khushab, and asked the owner of the vehicle, identified as Abdul Rehman son of Seena Khan, to produce the legal documents regarding the possession of truck but he failed to do so.

The FIU team impounded the truck and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for legal proceeding.
