FIU Multan detains suspected milk tank over fake registration

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) has detained a milk tank over its doubtful registration.

According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation received credible information from their source that commercial tanker will be transported through Multan. Customs Intelligence deputed their field staff and enhanced the monitoring of the coming goods and vehicles to thwart any attempt of smuggling from the Multan region.

Field Intelligence Unit of Multan Customs teams intercepted the milk tank during the checking of goods and vehicles from Kabirwala and asked its driver to produce the registration documents of the said vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle failed to produce any import documents of the said milk tank and informed Field Intelligence Unit teams that he was going supply milk to clients in the city.

Customs Intelligence teams took the milk tank into their custody on the suspicion of smuggling for verification of registration and asked them to provide original documents of the vehicle. The value of the milk tank was almost Rs1.5 million. Further investigations were still underway till filing of this report.
