Five ships take berth at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Five ships C.V X-Press Kailash, C.V Tomoko, M.V Qing Hu Shan, M.T Black Pearl-110 and M.T Serengeti carrying containers, Coal, LPG and Diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-1), Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile four more ships with Containers and Chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 60% on Sunday where a total of nine ships namely, X-Press Kailash, Tomoko, Hermes, Jia Yu Shan, Qing Hu Shan, Wei Hero, Black Pearl-110, Gennaro Ievol and M.T Serengeti were occupied PQA berth to load/offload Containers, Coal, Canola Seeds, LPG, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 146,837 tonnes, comprising 110,851 tonnes import cargo and 35,986 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,224 Containers (TUEs) (2,330 imports TUEs and 1,894 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.

Two Container Vessels X-Press Kailash and Tomoko sailed out to sea on Monday morning. Two ships C.V Al-Bahia and MSC Mykonos carrying Containers are expected to take berths at Container Terminal (Berth # 5 & 9 on Monday, while another Container Vessel Maersk Atlanta is due to arrive at PQ Tuesday.
