Flipkart starts taking pre-orders for new batch of Asus ZenFones

NEW DELHI: Online retail website Flipkart has started taking pre-orders for the new batch of Asus ZenFones (ZenFone Selfie, ZenFone 2 Deluxe and ZenFone 2 Laser 5.5) starting Wednesday. According to a Facebook post by Peter Chang who is regional head – South Asia and country manager – ASUS India, the devices will be delivered within 1 month post booking.

To recall, Asus launched three new ZenFones in India at its inaugural ZenFestival event in New Delhi in early August. As usual, each new ZenFone had its own variants, depending on storage and/or RAM specifics.

The phones available for pre-order for now include: the ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML) 64 GB and 128GB internal memory variants, the ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL) 16GB/2GB RAM and 32GB/3GB RAM variants and the Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 (ZE550KL) Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410/2GB RAM and Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615/3GB RAM variants.

Prices are as follows: ZenFone 2 Deluxe 64 GB (Rs.22,999) and 128GB (Rs.29,999), ZenFone Selfie 16GB/2GB RAM (Rs.15,999) and 32GB/3GB RAM (Rs.17,999) and Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 Snapdragon 410/2GB RAM (Rs.9,999) and Snapdragon 615/3GB RAM(Rs.13,999) respectively.

The USP of the ZenFone 2 Deluxe is its ‘premium’ back panel with a polygonal design consisting of over 500 tessellated triangles.

It comes with a 5.5-inch FullHD IPS display with a 1280×1920 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has a 2.3GHz Intel Atom processor Z3580 beating under the hood coupled with PowerVR G6430 GPU and 4GB RAM. The phone supports expandable storage of up to 128GB via microSD card.

The Deluxe sports a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash and a 5MP front camera. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Asus ZenUI on top, supports 4G LTE and uses a non-removable 3,000mAh battery.

The ZenFone 2 Laser on the other hand has a 5.5-inch HD screen with a 1280×720 pixels resolution enforced by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

The USP of the phone is its rear camera that comes with laser auto-focus technology that allows it to focus in just 0.3 seconds, according to the company. It sports a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED (dual tone) flash along with a 5MP front camera on the front.

The Laser also runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Asus ZenUI on top, supports 4G LTE and microSD (up to 128GB) and uses a non-removable 3,000mAh battery.

The ZenFone Selfie meanwhile is a selfie-centric camera phone that comes with 13MP cameras on the rear as well as front both of which have autofocus and dual-LED real tone flash. The rear camera also comes with laser autofocus.

Other specifications include: a 5.5-inch FullHD display with a 1080×1920 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor coupled with Adreno 405 GPU, microSD card slot (up to 64GB), dualSIM, Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company’s ZenUI on top, 4G LTE and 3,000mAh battery.
